My father is white, dark hair, green/brown eyes and mum is Thai. I have brown hair, eyes and skin but look mixed. My partner's father is half Kuwaitee and Spanish, his mother is Scottish with auburn hair and blue eyes. He is white with green eyes and dark hair. Any ideas on how they'll turn out? Do you think about your future children? Do you have children already? Attachments:

Do you think about your future children? Do you have children already? There are a lot of genetic options floating around in there with you two - I'd say your kids could look any number of ways and won't necessarily look the same. For example, some could have light eyes and some could have brown/dark eyes. One of my teenage nephews has bright blue eyes and he's alone in his generation with that trait. Being that your kids will be 1/4 Asian, they could range anywhere from not looking very Asian at all to looking easily 1/2 (like some of the 1/4 kids on Jon+Kate). Two of my friends are 1/2 Asian and both of them look more white - actually, sometimes people cannot see the Asian in them at all. They had one child together and that boy looks at least 1/2 Asian himself! Looking at your partner, he looks more Spanish than Kuwaiti (to me), so I doubt the 1/4 Arab will show much - but you never know (see above). I have one nephew and two nieces and the 1/4 Arab (Egyptian) shows in one of them, and only slightly. Anyway, you are both good looking people, so your kids are likely to get that passed down regardless.

Thanks so much for your reply! It's given me something to think about - I'm just really curious but obviously I won't know until we have children.
I love how your family have all different mixes, it's just so intriguing and very interesting!
I have a friend who's half Thai and she has two children with a Welsh man. She's quite dark skinned, with dark hair and eyes but her son is light tan, Thai brown eyes and BRIGHT ginger! Her daughter is pale with black curly hair and the brightest blue Thai eyes.
It's funny, you really can't tell how they'll turn out.

I have no idea how my children will turn out really. Both of my siblings are with pretty typical anglo looking partners now, which means there's a decent chance for some blond hair or blue eyes (which we have on our mother's side) and relatively anglo looks. My wife is Iraqi/Turkish Jewish, which is a bit more exotic - maybe more olive skinned, almost definitely brown to black hair, etc. The only thing that seems relatively certain is that one of them will end up with a big old schnozz, between the two of us

Two of my friends who are Filipino/Norwegian each have a baby who is 1/4 Filipino. One baby is completely Scandinavian looking with light blonde hair and bright blue eyes and no trace of Asian in him, and the other one was born with very dark hair and completely Chinese looking eyes... So I don't want to try to understand genetics anymore, lol...

I am a Eurasian married to an English girl. Our son looks Asian with dark hair, oriental eyes and tan skin. He has grown to be a bit taller than me and more muscular. Our daughter can pass for Australian, with European features and fair hair., except that she tans easily in summer. She is not usually mistaken for Eurasian.

So your son is quarter-Asian but looks more Asian than you? Intriguing. Since I'm a pretty "white" looking half-Asian I think it's quite possible that I'll have a kid who looks at least as Asian as me if not more so.

Well, I dont know if he looks more Asian, he looks very much like me, though some say he is more handsome, but my wife disputes that.

Through him, the family line has gone more Asian as he has married a delightful Korean girl, their child looks thoroughly Asian.

Hi, Quiapo I like how everything comes full circle within your family culture/genetics. I have relatives who run the gamut in phenotype. As to how they ethnically identify (that's up to them), but we're all family at family gatherings. I have a maternal 2nd cousin who is Filipino(Ilocano/Gaddang on her mom's side) and Italian on her dad's side, teaches French and married an Indian guy (as in South Asian descent). There are more variations but that's an example.

Hi Thea, that is so right: " .. ..but we're all family at family gatherings . ." and it is so comforting, that in diversity we are all united.

These are the twins: I know what you are thinking. They look white on the outside. As they get older, however, their Asian features will start to develop, but I will raise them as if they were adopted from a white family. Then, at their 18th birthday, with all their friends around, I'll give them the horrible news that we are actually related. And that's how you make Twinkies. Hmm, I think I should also post this in the recipe forum.

^ It's no fun when you already know the plan. xD I'm a million years too old to not know that plan. I'm like a donkey--I mean an onion. I've got layers and I like parfait. New pic? From what you've shown us, I can't decide on whether you are an elf, an old lady, or a Tifa cosplayer. A) B) C)
