Lol..are those even the same people? haha. Here is my theory: I'm sure the first one is wearing those "big-eye" circle contact lenses in all black to get that innocent, dolly-eyed look. The second one could be wearing the lenses/maybe not, but she probably used the double-eyelid/glue or tape. Her eyes look completely different and I'm pretty sure that regular makeup wouldn't be able to achieve such a huge difference. Last picture, is definitely photoshopped. Regular makeup can do wonders sure, but it can't do everything. I don't think most girls wear contacts to make their eyes look huge and eyelid tape/glue anyways... I'm a girl and I like makeup. But I keep it looking natural and at a minimum. I also use it for oil control (damn oily skin type!) That is just my preference. But we own our own body and our own skin so I think freedom should be enforced.

Well that's a little gross. Know a few girls that just cake it on, will have to ask one of them what she's hiding. See what you did there Pal, you're about to embarrass a girl you don't even know in front of her peers and quite possibly get me slapped. Wearing contacts for fashion sake? Didn't even know that existed.. sound so uncomfortable. Have seen double eyelid tape, it's sold at 7-11 here in Korea. Doesn't sound particularly comfortable, either. If it makes them happy, I guess.

The topic title is rather harsh... They look just like the pictures I see all over Hong Kong advertising plastic surgery! Hold on I took a couple: Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usApologies for the size, I shrunk them once! ^ Talking about contacts for fashion. Some blokes here in Hong Kong wear FRAMES for fashion. As in they are lensless. More amusing yet, there's a bloke in my office. He has lensless frames... AND prescription contacts!

lol What are these women gonna say when their boyfriends come over and see them in the morning without makeup or after they get outta the shower? It's like false advertising.
lol Perhaps I'm a hypocrite, though. I used to have terrible acne on my face with severe scarring in high school. I still have some scarring but it's faded and less noticeable as time goes by. Anyway, in high school I would literally CAKE foundation on my face to cover up every single blemish. It was very obvious I had foundation on, but I thought it was better than showing a scarred face. Probably made my acne worse but I insisted on not letting anyone see my blemishes. Then I realized one day, that if it were to rain outside, my makeup would probably start sliding off my face. And then everyone would see...and probably scream. Since then, I toned down the foundation to where you still know I have scars on my face but it's not the FIRST thing you'd see from a distance. Some days I won't wear any at all.
Other than that, I don't think I've done anything odd to drastically change my appearance.

What I like to know is where did these girls learn some mad makeup skills? I can't even draw a eye liner on right and I'm a painter.
I find wearing a lot of makeup makes me look worse but I'm sure I ain't no beauty first thing in the morning with out.
I don't think they should pose before and after surgical pics with no makeup then glamazon version after.

So these Chinese girls are using some very powerful kung fu. You gals seem just as surprised. I didn't think it would be this easy for you see it from our, the male, perspective. What a subservient bunch you are. Hmmm... I wonder what Eurasian girls look like without makeup?

I think the only thing that is making them look so different is using tape to get double eyelids. It really makes the eyes pop and then they are using those ulzzang contact lenses which emphasises it even more. It's a big change in appearance even without applying eyeliner and mascara. As for the skin and lips, that's just a good foundation with a little lipstick.
Ignoring that, I have seen some drastic makeover photos and I really wonder what their secret is. Especially when I feel I already look quite okay without make-up compared to the woman before her makeover. If they go from ugly to supermodel, what would happen to me if I could apply make-up like them?

I think makeup is ok as long as it looks natural on you and accentuate your good features. To me, contacts of other colors or contacts that make eyes look bigger, seem unnatural, like you are wearing a costume. Hmmm... I wonder what Eurasian girls look like without makeup? you don't wanna know, muahahahah.... ^^ EA girls, how did you learn to do makeup that fits your EA look? I only recently learned the right use of eye makeup for me, since I could never follow the makeup tips for Nordic girls that I see in Scandinavian magazines...

^ I still haven't found a method that works for me, though I recently discovered some youtube channels that might help me (haven't tried their tips yet): www.youtube.com/user/xteeener?blend=1&ob=4www.youtube.com/user/fafinettex3?blend=1&ob=4They have all Halloween make-up at the moment though, but they have good tutorials in their uploads. The thing is, with me, my eyelids are too big to apply make-up as if I have single eyelids because it looks like there is too little make-up. My eyelids are not big enough and my eye sockets are not deep enough for it to look okay if I only apply eyeshadow below the crease. Also, no matter what I do, if I apply more eyeshadow and get closer to my brow bone like white women do, I end up looking like a clown (even if the colours are subtle, it just looks daft). I think that's also something to do with the lack of depth to my eye sockets. So I only use eyeliner and mascara at the moment.

^^ I have the exact same problem with applying eyeshadow too....I went to a MAC store for my graduation makeup and it made me look so odd and clown like while the makeup looked fantastic on my monoracial friends. I ended up wiping everything off and doing my own makeup. Lol..are those even the same people? haha. I'm a girl and I like makeup. But I keep it looking natural and at a minimum. I also use it for oil control (damn oily skin type!) That is just my preference. Hey, kinda an OT question but what kind of makeup do you use for oil control? I have oily skin too and I've given up on wearing anything but eye makeup or lipgloss because my skin is so darn oily. and I dunno....I'm trying to decide if those are the same girls....especially the last one.

^ I like Bare Escentuals Mineral Foundation with SPF (Original Formula). It is natural and chemical-free. I tried the newer "matte version" and thought it would look better, but for some reason the coverage was a little..lacking. I think my oily skin soaked it up. It is recommended that people with oily skin use powders as it is dry, hence counteracts with the oil. In theory, liquid foundations (definitely and especially oil-based) will make it even oilier.
As with all foundations (whether or not there is sunscreen in it)..I don't think you want to cake a lot of it on. You honestly just need a really tiny bit of this stuff and you already have fantastic coverage. It should look natural and feel that way too. If you cake too much on, it will magnify your pores and if you take a photo of yourself, you will look like a ghost from the white cast from the sunscreen.
So ladies, remember, a little goes a long, long way!

that s kinda harsh...i m against plastic surgery as a whole (not reconstructive...plastic!) but i don t see how make up is all that bad...looks isn t something we can acquire, not everyone s lucky enough to be born looking like kristin kreuk or whomever...if i won t deny looking at these pics make me feel a tad better (because yes, knowing there are worst cases than yours makes me feel a bit better about myself as horrid as it sounds...and i do feel like i m doing false advertising when i wear make up....in fact i very rarely approve of what i see in the mirror if not for make up...) but i really don t think we should be making fun or condemning them for doing so. at least they had the guts to show the before and after pics...i wouldn t want to have the before pics posted on the net really...
that s one of the many reasons i really wish i had been born a guy.

that s one of the many reasons i really wish i had been born a guy. So you're saying that you wish you had been born into a group where the social norms against makeup is strongly enforced regardless of sexual orientation? Sounds like you want makeup banned for women. I use to think that there are women too beautiful for makeup. That their natural beauty is rarer than the cosmetic veneer hanging from their face like a mirror of tireless vanity. They had won the beauty contest. The pageant was theirs, but not liking the prize, they compete until they've worn themselves ugly. They try on mask after mask, but it never hides the worry. That's my old view: a bit romantic and inexperienced. Those pictures have shaken my confidence in the ability of natural beauty to triumph over their astonishing imitations.

^^ I have the exact same problem with applying eyeshadow too....I went to a MAC store for my graduation makeup and it made me look so odd and clown like while the makeup looked fantastic on my monoracial friends. I ended up wiping everything off and doing my own makeup. I've heard so many horror stories from Asian and Eurasian people about this, which is why I have never gone to get my make-up done in a store. I also have horrendously oily skin. So oily that, in half an hour after washing, a fly could land on my face, get stuck in the thick layer of grease and slide down my cheek, flailing its arms uselessly. Well, maybe not that bad, but my face shines like a beacon at that stage and feels disgusting. So I think I can also give some advice. The mineral make-up hypeforlife mentioned is supposed to be great for oily skin because it is all powder, but I haven't tried it myself yet. I use a cheap, oil-free, sebum-regulating, mattifying moisturiser (Spanish) with Skinfood's Aloe Sun BB Cream (Korean). BB cream is supposed to fade hyperpigmentation marks. I think you can find a cheap moisturiser like that in any store if you ask an assistant. The BB cream you can order online and it can more or less be shipped anywhere in the world. I mix together the moisturiser and BB cream in my hand to create a kind of tinted moisturiser. It makes my skin look better, but doesn't completely conceal everything so it still looks natural. Sometimes I also put some pressed powder on top to keep it drier for longer. An excellent item to have with you all the time are blotting tissues. They are easy to find in Asia, but not so much in the west. I used to buy Clean & Clear ones (best ones in my experience), but they don't exist in France and they stopped stocking them in the UK. -_- I also used to buy the tea tree oil ones from The Body Shop, but the tea tree oil dried my skin out so much it got more oily. If you can't find blotting tissues, I would just dab the oil up with normal tissues, but the thing is they will take some make-up off, unlike blotting tissues. i really don t think we should be making fun or condemning them for doing so. at least they had the guts to show the before and after pics...i wouldn t want to have the before pics posted on the net really... I agree that it takes a lot of courage to reveal to the world what you look like before make-up if you wear it religiously. Though there are also a lot of people who go out without any make-up most of the time. I also don't think they should be made fun of. Who doesn't want to look attractive and to feel good about themselves? This is one way these women feel they can achieve that. While a guy is not generally expected to wear make-up (or expected to be so good looking they don't need it), there are other expectations. e.g. to have good skin, have a square jaw, to have some muscle tone, to be tall, to have a manly voice, to not have hair on his back, to not go bald... etc. Being born with a body and face that does not fit the ideal will affect you no matter what gender you are. And just as a woman will be punished for wearing make-up (false advertising) and for not wearing make-up (why don't you do something about your face?), a man can get the same thing. Punished for wearing a toupee (false advertising) and for not covering up his bald spot (why don't you do something about going bald?). Granted, I think the pressure for women to look good is greater (why else is there a huge and successful make-up and plastic surgery industry selling mostly to women?), but that still does not negate the fact that men also experience pressure to be attractive.
