Maybe you are just over thinking it, maybe go into it just yourself and not think what her reaction would be if she is white, asian, latina, etc. Maybe they sense that, women are great at picking up stuff like that it's our 6th sense we might know why this guys is giving off a weird vibe but all we know is it makes us uncomfy. I know guys that ask out anyone 99.9% of the time they are rejected but they do it because they know sooner or later they will get lucky. They don't care what race she is or what her reaction will be, it's really like hi how are you, date? no? Next. But to eachs own, do what makes you feel comfortable and I'm sure the lady friend will hopefully reciprocate the same

Exhale85, I'm EA and I've never dated an asian woman. I usually date caucasian women, but have also dated a black girl in the past. In fact, I get hit on more by white women who want to date outside their race, but are discouraged by their parents, for which I am usually an acceptable alternative. I also look evenly mixed asian/white, so maybe you should just try to pursue white women more. Just because they're used to dating white men doesn't mean they won't change their minds and date you!

Hi Exhale85...I am in the opposite boat as you...Asian women, back when i was dating, would NEVER even look at me! Of course, I have a small sample size of asian women being that I live in the monochromatic theocracy also known as Utah, but still...

"Arrested for what, baby? For being awesome?"
that is your problem. If you came up to me with that line. I would probably claw my face while running the other way.

Hey guys! First off I'm a 100% Chinese guy from Australia. Can I still post here? Secondly, nice site! Great forums as well. I stumbled on it when I was trying to find something on Eurasians. Anyway, this topic caught my eye. I think its undeniable that there's a sort of covert racism against Asian guys when it comes white women in the dating world. Anecdotal evidence on the street will show that there is a disparity between WM/AF and AM/WF couples. I think this is because of two things: The media showing us what their bosses prefer their society to look like, and the average Asian man himself. I think as a general rule, the 'hitting on' record of Asian men are woefully lower compared to every other guy's. Their Confucius-influenced culture of not showing aggression in these sorts of things is usually the reason behind this. The other thing is that it's a vicious cycle no? If Asian guys usually get rejected by white women, they would be less inclined to hit on them. And because of this, white women will say that they almost never get hit on by Asian guys and think that they're just not interested! That's why most of the EAs here have a white father and an Asian mother. P.S: Kyu-Ree, you seem to be a champion of sorts for the AM/WF combo May I ask why? Your dad's Asian maybe? Lol P.P.S: Even though the dating disparity still exists, I must say the AM/WF combo is increasing lately. I've seen enough around Sydney not to be too suprised by this previously rare combo anymore

I, too, have been noticing more AM/MF couples around Sydney lately. I'm in the Western Suburbs if it matters (though technically, I live in the North-West, but it's basically Westieville).
However, I would've previously put it down to maybe my general awareness increasing in the last few years, but if others are noticing the same thing, then maybe that's the reality of it.
Really though, there's sooo many Asians in Sydney now. I'm not just talking about the Asian areas like Eastwood, but i've particularly noticed a lot more Asians living in my suburb in, say, the last 3 years or so. So naturally we should be seeing more of these interracial relationships.
Might not be long before we're noticing African/Caucasian relationships in parts of Sydney like Blacktown, because of the huge Sudanese influx going on there at the moment.

Hm. How small is your penis? Sounds like an idea for a Poll thread! Of course most guys are not going to answer honestlyI'm sure Fook already made one like this. If that librarian was around he'd find it. As for the real topic. I think its just a matter of time before the american mainstreem starts really jumping on the asian bandwagon. But for now, whatever make the best of your situation in this world. If things arnt equal u just gotta try harder. Think about it this way would you rather have it easier and be all white? I definately think women in general overlook asians in Northamerica. But At the same time asian men allowthemselves to be overlooked. You gotta get noticed, do a backflip or something. Not gonna get anywhere by theorising. But I think I'm as guilty of in action as anyone else here. PS. I only read like the first 4 posts of this thread. This message will self destruct.

I have to agree to the opinion that the way of approaching is very relevant in this matter.
I know an EAn in university, he looks rather asian, he is a cute one. My impression is that he just wants to start a conversation – especially with girls: white, EAn, arab.. he gets into conversations all the time and he is very successful: the thing is, that he is a rather shy guy, who does not have enough self-confidence (he is always thinking to much, so he is very sensitive in a way) but he likes to communicate in general. So I think he knows half of the girls in the library, because he acts very friendly and open minded, but in a shy or sensitive way. I guess that's why the girls love to hang around with him, to go to the next coffee corner with him, just to slender with him etc.
That’s why we (a girl I hang most of the time around with in university, + me) call him “Strolchi” (from the Walt Disney’s “Susi and Strolchi” ...(2 dogs) (these are the German names, I dunno the English…)) and each girl Susi! He doesn’t like to be called like that, but he smiles, when we start to make fun of him and those many girls (it must be 90 % white girls) he is hanging around with…
So I don’t really think that it is only a question of race, because I have seen many couples: white girl – asian looking boy here in Hamburg/Germany. Even our blonde German top model Julia Stegner has or had an Asian boyfriend, Steven Pan!!! Perhaps you should try to get into a “normal” conversation with some really nice open minded ladies. I think then the conversation is much easier!
Good luck!!

I live in the United States... plenty of white, black, and latina women all which I LOVE. However, all that seem to take interest in me are asian women. I have little to NO luck with non-asian women! I'm betting it's because the stigma attached to asian men has leap-frogged to me even though I am HALF WHITE! Anyone else have this bad luck? Or do I just suck with women? (I can see the jokes coming my way now). P.S. here's something to chew on. Well I dont really know if I can post here considering I am a full white girl ( a true WASP -- English/Welsh from Michigan) but anyway I stumbled across teh post because my friend and I were discussing the fact that you dont see many asian men or even eurasian men with white women. I mean for me personally, and this goes for many of my friends as well, I am totally open to the idea of asian men and especially eurasian men. I have actually dated a few in the past, I mean but the major thing that I find with it is that asian men seem to a thing for asian women, and I cant tell you how many times I've seen a super attractive asian/eurasian male out and then dont even give me a second look and just go straight for my asian friend ( and I mean i dont want to sound pompous or whatever but I mean I think im pretty attractive I get white guys and what not, I'm blonde blue eyed and average body I like to work out and stuff) . So I think that alot of the reason why you might not be getting attention from white women is because you just aren't going for it enough, like I think that there is this stigma that an asian guy (or even a semi looking asian guy) is always going to be going for asian women. I mean there will always be women out there who won't date outside of their race but from the women that I know that seems to be the exception not the rule. So I think as long as they know that you are interested in them and you guys are a good match personality wise there really shouldn't be a problem, just be assertive.

Uh, not sure what advice to give. I haven't experienced much "racism", if that's the right word. Honestly, I don't know what you guys are going on about. Most of my past girlfriends were white, and I've had the interest of every type of woman as well. It could happen through me approaching them or them approaching me. I don't have to make special allowances for certain races of people. White, black, mexican, asian, or eurasian... Doesn't matter. I'm not sure how to word this the right way, but ... They're all the same to me. Or I should rather say that they're all individuals. I hate to get all "here's some dating advice" here, but I don't think this is a problem with "race" so much as it is obliviousness. I would bet that you probably get more attention than you think. There's potential people to date from any race everywhere. You just need to recognize your opportunities? A lot of people are bad with that. Even when it's staring them in the face.

My problem is that I just don't have much to say to most people and that's sometimes mistaken that for meekness by people that don't know me. I've got a sense of humor, but its pretty f***ed up and most people don't get it. I'm also incapable of getting along with anyone "normal" for whatever reason. They just bore the hell out of me, which is probably why every girl I've ever had anything to do with has been unstable and crazy. Oh, and the way I've been dressing lately is just one step up from Wal-Mart. I know girls cant stand that.

Well, think of it this way... Put yourself in their shoes. What if you met someone that you kind of fancied, and then they're all quiet? I've learned to just try to break through that (which few will do), but when I was younger, I'd be like "damn, she hates my guts!" And then I found out later that that wasn't the case, but the thrill was gone.
If you're actually funny and laid back, then just be that. If they don't like your humor, then to hell with them. If they do, there's nothing better. You're making them comfortable. That's all anyone wants really.
Also, if it helps, try not to think of hooking up with that person too much, and just look at them like they're your grandma or something. Haha. As for saying things, just talk about what's around the room or jump into a conversation already happening (like if it's at a party or something). No need to swap life stories and s***, or even talk directly to a person right away. If it's a stranger, y'know... I usually just act like I know them in a way. I don't introduce myself.. I could just say something silly at a gas pump, walking by someone's desk at work, sit down at a bar, and then might find myself in a conversation afterwards.
My two cents. Maybe not for everyone.
p.s. You'll find that most people aren't "normal". Don't judge them too quickly. There are a lot of freaks out there. ;D

I have a similar problem, I know I'm a good looking guy but every women I meet already has a bf at the time ( and this isn't some bs their telling me its true) also I can't tell when girl likes me or not. Every girl that's decent looking or better will not be single ever. If they're better than decent they've got multiple guys competing for them at any given time. The only way to get one is to steal one, which isn't easy. Even girls that I would rate 3-5 are taken more often than not. Forget about finding some girl that just happens to be "single".
