It can actually be fun. Yeah, it's a pain if you're running late for school/work but if you feel like playing around with colour or you're going out and want to look a little more dramatic it's enjoyable. For me, anyway. Total agreement. Make-up is good clean fun.

I think makeup can be another form of self expression or creativity, in the same way that people dress in punk or decorate their houses in a particular style. I'm always in awe of people who can use makeup really well, it's a fine art.
Although most girls just use it to even out skin tone and usually it's for their own piece of mind, so they don't feel self conscious about any of their "perceived" flaws.
My only gripe is women who take ages putting on makeup in public bath rooms, blocking everyone from using the sink. GRRRR

Make up worn right and correctly just makes a girl feel positive and ready to face the world. Not all girls wear make up to impress anyone else but themselves.
And if some guy notices her beautiful face than that's just an extra bonus in her day.

I love the artistry in it. I dabble in crazy draggy make-up just for fun or sometimes wear barely any at all. Changes day by day.

The guy I am seeing told me I wear "alot of makeup" and that I should tone it down. He was saying something about how make up is for people with two different skin colors... ? I don't know what to do because with or without it I still look terrible. In fact, the day he told me this I was only wearing lipstick and mascara. Maybe it has something to do with the shade I chose...or it's most likely just that I naturally look like a goofy clown. Also, does everyone consider wearing alot of makeup to mean wearing alot of foundation? I don't wear foundation and I don't think it is my skin that makes me ugly. It is my facial structure that makes me ugly.I've tried wearing contouring make up but it just looks like bruises on my skin.

I think that you could take it as an awkward compliment if you were in the mood for giving the guy the benefit of the doubt. You could translate it as such: " I think you're good looking without make-up, you don't need it". I'd think it much more offensive if a guy was telling you to put more on.

whoops, I messed up! ;D
" I think that you could take it as an awkward compliment if you were in the mood for giving the guy the benefit of the doubt. "
I hope that that was the case... Although it could also be that it's his nice way of saying "you look like a prostitute"...

hm, I think many ppl think that lipstick looks "too much". I think few young women use a lot of lipstick during the day-to-day. My mom does, it's kind of more for older women?? I dunno. I know that once I used lipstick on a party that started during the day and lasted until the late night and I think some of my friends thought it was a bit too much. Or just ask him what the hell he meant I think it depence on where youre from. Where I am its considered uncultured to go out w/o a lipstick let alone at a party. I have just ordered the much sought after "Russian Red" by M.a.C. It is believed to be the truest red ull ever find and is sold out in most of the places. Although, I would go for a more light tone on daily basis. But this M.a.c is glam lipstick, which means its suitable for glamorous party and dinner. I have just the yellow dress to complement it. Or on days that I fell bold. I shall wear it with my bright red muffler

Maybe you should do some kind of make-up detox... you have beautiful features, and it's unhealthy to want to hide behind a mask. your make-up is your palatte and your face is a canvas darling. create a masterpiece everyday! Do as she says... have fun with make-up. Correct a few flaws, if you want, but you most certainly do not need to be wearing so much make-up to be good-looking.

Thank you everyone for your advice and suggestions . I've been trying to use less make up over the last few days. It takes some getting used to and feels pretty strange but hopefully, in the long run I'll save my skin and end up spending less of my paycheck on cosmetics!

Cheer up. I carry a roll of toilet paper in my pocket everywhere. Say no to the powder compact, yes to the single ply, dab in the mirror and tell your man he can fry on face oil if he doesn't get it.

TBH you can make up as much as you like. As for making up taking toll on your face? That only happens when you dont clean the make up properly at the end of the day. What you need is a good make up remover, Toner helps to take out a lot of residues, then mosturize it with face lotion b4 you sleep. Mosturize it again b4 you apply your make up . so your make up doesnt stick to your face directly. I would suggest a sunscreen too. so you see. it takes a lot of effort. Its impossible to be lazy. so if youre lazy type. you should prolly get off make up.

I like checking out product reviews at makeupalley.com before I waste money on makeup.
