y is it u see asian girls with white bf more than asian dudes with white gfs. anyone ever noticed that....? hmz i hear about this all the time, some ppl have told me how they're caught off guard when they see an asian guy with a white gf. i never quite understood what they meant, b/c at least around here, i've seen a ton of that combo, maybe just as much as the other way around...i just think it's a matter of chance gettogethers, at least in this time period when the legacy of colonialism has pretty much died out. and not necessarily how asian males may be perceived as nonsexual or nonattractive. hmmm..this kinda reminds me of something just yesterday. i was hanging out preparing for a test with a few of my classmates in the cafeteria/loungeroom at my college. those classmates, who were white, whispered amongst us, "say that guy over there is really cute"...i glance over to see who they were talking about and see this asian guy sitting there..i asked "the one sitting by himself?" just to make sure i had the right guy since i wasn't sure if they were talking about that one b/c honestly, i didn't find him attractive at all, not even for an asian guy...i just kinda shook my head like "err"..."oh, by the way, we've always wondered, what [race]are you?"...anyhow, my main point was, apparently there are white/non-asian females out there that find asian males attractive...i'm not particularly attracted to full asian guys, but hey, that's just my preferences

*BUMP*mum is ethnicallly a young, crazy, wild spanish and filipino mishmash, and this goes back to both her mom and dad, granpa and granma. thay're all EA's.... but she's officially filipino I would consider Filipinos in general to be all EAs, if not EA, then without a doubt mixed-race, but I think I've talked about that enough here...

Well my dad is Filipino. But I have a question... if my mom is half Armenian, does that make her EA? I've always been confused about whether Armenia is considered an Asian country or not.

Hmmm, this thread was made a while ago, is there anyone currently posting on EAN who is second generation EA (has 2 EA parents)? Cristobal that really depends on your definition of Eurasian, the most commonly used definition is anyone who is 50/50 or 75/25 split of asian and caucasian. Using this definition, I would have to disagree with your speculation. However, if we were to use the broader definition you are using we could say the same about Vietnamese, Burmese and Indian people. And I have to say, most people in those countries (filipinos included) have typical asian characteristics, whatever european lineage they have has been watered down over generations. I personally wouldn't use the term Eurasian for people with that kind of ancestry, but rather something else that denotes they have distant european lineage (and vice versa in regards to any europeans with distant asian lineage). I have no idea what it would be if had to pick one word. Anyways, that's how I view the definition. Some Eurasians I have met or seen online have very strict definitions and say EAs have to be 50/50 and don't even include the 75/25...go figure.

To my knowledge, I don't think I've ever seen a second generation EA. Though I frequently see EA's in my area, I seldom see any EA's over the age of 30.

I'm one of those seldom seen ones. I don't know where you live but most of the Ea's I know( i live in the states) are products of Military fathers. At least in my generation. Most of us born during the Vietnam era are in our thirties and many I know are heading to 40. We might not be seen because now we live in the burbs surrounded by our white picket fences, with our significant others, doting on our children and never venture out at night anymore after a hard day's work. We exist and there are plenty of us...we just don't party with you young folks anymore. ;D

Armenia is in the middle east but within the Asian continent. Most Armenian or persons of Armenian decent I have met, I would class as being of caucasian, not mongolian descent so I would say no on your mum being an EA.

The above poll is written as that 'European' 'Asian' 'White' etc are all written with capital letters, everyones politically correct all of a sudden My Mum is Malaysian-Chinese, Dad is British White. Hmm there's a lack of categories e.g. Blacks, Hispanics etc. but then I suppose this poll would take up the whole page.
