Fortunately no. I have a sense of humor, hair and keep the beard to a minimum.

I think I've inherited a lot of my bad side from my dad and I got none of his good side.
BAD:-
Letting things bottle up and then blowing up over the tiniest thing.
Stubborn
Not wanting to offend people, and sugar coating things - so people never get the message which leads back to the first point.
GOOD:- Hard working Selfless Very giving
Ahhh I do love my Dad, just never ever want to get on the wrong side of him....EVER.

Is he your parent who is "quadroon" 1/4 Black? Actually no - he is 1/4 American Indian. The black is on my mom's side. Bascially she looks white because she inherited her appearance from my German grandfather and her creole mother looked like a pale Lena Horne. (BTW Octoroon has two definitions: either strictly 1/8 black or a person who passes as white but is of black descent, similar to passe blanc. much like mulatto can mean 50/50 or a person of mixed white/black lineage.) So is your great grandma african american?

So is your great grandma african american? maternal great grandfather, though he passed as white - see the problem is there wasn't a specifically identifiably black appearance there. Due to the years of mixture you'd have families where each parent was mulatto and produce children of variable appearance - two siblings may have a completely different phenotype (as we often see here on EAN with some members). It appears that my great grandfather or his family after the civil war basically moved into rural Arkansas and passed themselves off as white, marrying my great grandmother and passing on the dna. So it's not that my grandmother was strictly biracial - its more like she was the product of generationally mixed lineage, though in essence a mulatto. As a kid people always remarked about my kinky hair and full lips but I just thought it was how I was. Upon further investigation when I was a teen I started to see the pieces didn't make sense. When I told my grandmother I was looking into our geneology she said "Don't go too far back or you'll find the tar brush." But I never had full closure until I had a DNA test a few years ago which showed the presence of subsaharan african and native american dna.

^ that Dna test sounds interesting, im not really sure who my mothers parents were, because she was adopted by her nanny, my sister and I found her real siblings through our aunt. But it would be interesting to get a dna test just to be sure.
Im not like my dad, he's a loud type of person, a bit stubborn & has a broad interest in business but usually only pursues one avenue of doing something or if that fails abandons it rather than carry on - sought of like a perfectionist, my sister is more like him. I'm more Open minded, witheld and cautious, and prefer to quietly go on about things - more like my mother. But I've got a more spontaneous personality that close friends know about, one moment I'll be serious then be bubbly, My dad's more neutral.

I am like my dad in a lot of instances. I joke around and like to make others laugh. We have similar tastes in humor. We just don't look alike at all, when people see me with either of my parents they don't make the connection, unless they see me with both my mum and dad, then they're like, 'ohhhh i get it.'

The same way some members here with one white parent and one east Asian parent pass as white. Now imagine two eurasians having a child - with recessive genes the kid could look mixed, white or full Asian depending on genetic dice roll, but still possess 50% Asian dna. Vanessa Williams is a good example. At the time she was crowned Miss America many didn't know she was black ethnically, but both her parents are. Her recessive traits gave her pale skin, green eyes and brown hair (when she competed she was much more pale). I realize as a non-American it doesn't really make sense since being black in the US is a race, a caste, a culture and an ethnic group so the lines blur. But to get back to your original question there is no great grandparent that looks like Shaquille O'Neal or Samuel L Jackson - though probably a few 3x great grandmothers and some white men.

We have very simliar facial features except my eyes. Similiar skin color too. We share common interests, such as our love for tofu, and books. That's about it though.

So he isn't into Manga or videogames? No, and it's probably better that way. It could be like the father in the cellphone commercial who gets pierced and tattooed and wants to go with his teen son to Burning Man.

Physically I look more like my mom. But my dad and I have very similar personalities.
-we both have short tempers -we repress/ don't show our emotions -we are generous with our time and we do a lot of favors for our friends, but when the kindness isn't returned, we get all pissed off- this happens quite often. -we're both very quiet

My father and I do have similarities yes. But I find more and more each day that I'm turning into my mother. Not necessarily a bad thing but....
