Thank you. It seems I'll probably have to settle for a lesser school, I'm not up to par with UCLA's standards. ASU sounds doable, except for having to live in Arizona for another few years.. bleh. It's a very useful sight, I'll be using it often it seems. it's cool. when are you planning to start? just a warning though, pure drafting day in day out is reallyyyyyyy tedious and not as fun as it may seem I won't be getting my associates until Novemeber so probably not until Spring session. Online courses are offered to complete a BA in Science but I'm a bit iffy about that. What schooling did you go through, if you don't mind my asking? Yes, drafting is tedious.. we are only working with CAD at the moment. What are the other programs mostly used?

^ Bachelor of Architecture. 6 years all up. For cadding: AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks & Microstation (here anyways) For modelling: programs like 3d studio max and rhino. i'm not too familiar with this, haven't done any 3d modelling for years.

^ Hmmm the student's quarters actually look pretty cool, and that's innovative. Unless I'm wrong.

Finally, I found a picture of Cal State Northridge's sign. I wish I had more... You could look at this from any angle and it would still read CSUN. What a bad picture! I'll be sure to take more the next time I pass by. What is this art called? I wonder if there is more like it elsewhere.

I'm actually contemplating taking architectural Drafting. That was what I originally planned on studying but changed my mind later on, but in true Krispin Fashion I've changed my mind again for the last time hopefully. i don't know what it's like over there but in Australia there's a degree called Bachelor of Architecture (Science). basically they don't concentrate as much on design, but rather on the computers side - CAD, 3D modelling and rendering etc. is that what you're interested in? just a warning though, pure drafting day in day out is reallyyyyyyy tedious and not as fun as it may seem Sorry for the late reply....only just read this. Yup that sounds about the same here. The institute I'm in is a great institute so thats good for me. As for drafting being boring....I've come to the same conclusion, but strangely I'm still interested. I think I'll go ahead and apply and see where it takes me. Thanks for the reply ribena and Kat. I love Tofu

Wow, so many fantastic buildings! I used to prefer older architecture like gothic etc, but after being in Shanghai this summer I'm really starting to love modern architecture! Well, here's some really old architecture - medieval Norwegian "Stavkirker" (Stave Churches) And this building is called "The Viking Ship"...it's an ice hall (I think), and it was built for the Lillehammer Olympics '04: And here's a picture of Oslo's future opera...it's supposed to be finish in 2008. It will be the only modern building in Olso that doesn't look like a square box...

Proposed projects for Shanghai: Shanghai International Autodrome what's an autodome? is it like a bus transit hub? or something for cars? I went there yesterday - nice lines everywhere. Hardly a right-angle to be seen. yet very edgy. so is that like an observation deck that looks out onto the tarmac/apron?
