I'll be going to several different houses (Family/Friends). We will be celebrating on a Saturday b/c Monday is a working day. My family is very loud.....strangers tend to call the cops b/c they think we're fighting. So this year I will bring ear plugs to save my ears from damage. As for money....my family gives $10 or $20 dollars....mostly $10. Oh well money is money is money is good.

;)We never celebrate Chinese New Year My Chinese family all live in Singapore or England, so we never have a big family get-together or anything... Maybe I seem a bit ignorant, but when is Chinese New Year? I know it's around January/February, but it changes every year, doesn't it? And which animal is it this year? Hmm, maybe I should persuade my mom to celebrate Chinese New Year with me...even if we'll probably just end up going to China Palace Resturant However, I know it's ONLY going to be me in a cheong-sam and some girls with the odd chopstick-through-bun thing. If anyone wishes me 'Happy C N Y' in 'Chinese' ie. ching, chong, chang and the like, I will slap them. Haha, my friend always does that...we had a Chinese-themed evening at another friends house, and while we came dressed up in Chinese clothes, my friend just stuck a couple of chopsticks in her hair, like that made her look chinese...

Hmm.. My relatives must be fairly rich compared to others receiving a specific amount of money in this thread . However last year it wasn't a good time as my Po po passed away because you don't celebrate CNY if a relative has passed away The sad thing was that I got an ang pow last year from my Chinese side of my family which I won't disclose but it's too much.. hey ! no need to feel ashamed actuallly there were so many od us waiting at the door it s quite understandable our uncles only gave us 5 $...they all spent at least 100 $ on ang pao...poor them ! ok....here s me decorating the house for CNY:

You're tall.
EDIT: Or maybe it's just the horizontal-ness of the picture.

Thir Jiang Li: It's the year of the dog Hmm..I was wondering if any girls (or boys?) know the 'traditional' way of wearing your hair with a Cheongsam because when I wear mine with my hair down, it looks a bit odd.

With chopsticks please.. With ONE chopstick So there was a party yesterday for Vietnamese people. It was pretty cool (same as all years though) but the Highlight IS the FOOD. 2 bucks for all you can eat??? HELL YES! So yea there was dragon dance, kung fu demonstrations and stuff like that. So for the Real new year, on saturday all our family is going to the pagoda to pray and to get food hehehe.

I'm gonna go to the flower market on new years eve, get some orchids and other flowers to decorate the house and give to people.. then gonna eat this 'poon choi' thing with the family - its this MASSIVE tub filled with veg and meat and soaked in soup and just eat from it.. and then might go to see the fireworks.. or just watch it on tv.
oh, i should get loads of lucky packets this year since i'm in hk and everyone will be giving them out, although i'm gonna miss out on the partners/managers at work handing them out..
