I have bought myself a wok which came with 8 chopsticks and 4 bowls.
Whilst I figured out how to use the chopsticks, I have found that they slip-slide when trying to eat noodles with them.
Is the secret of using them more in how the food is prepared or just practice more with the sticks?

Hold the chopsticks near the bottom instead of the top...much easier to manoeuvre then...

If you're eating anything semi-big (beef, poultry, shrimp) try spearing the food with the chopsticks. It's the only way to get the job done .

lol its so embarrassing at chinese restuarants cuz i have to ask for knife n fork don't be. fork and knife is more civilized ...I asked for a set just the other day. on another note, does anyone else have the problem where people assume you can't use em and it turns into a judgement thing? it pisses my sister off to no end.

Hold the chopsticks near the bottom instead of the top...much easier to manoeuvre then... you get more control - and more food! - with holding chopsticks at the top end, but it does take practise to move your way up the stick! noodles are still a bitch to eat with chopsticks even after years of practise!! chopsticks for cooking is better i reckon than other cooking utensils, its good for stirring, flipping food over, moving bits around the pan etc. but make sure they are wooden rather than plastic chopsticks.
