Ok, we've all heard the jokes about E. Asians eating dogs and cats, and I can hardly comment since I've eaten snails, bullfrogs, squid, octopus and alligator (and liked them all!). What is the weirdest or most socially unacceptable "ethnic" cuisine you've eaten, and did it taste good? and sorry if this was already a thread

^ Like chicken, I presume lol The most unusual thing I've eaten.... duck tongue, frog legs (like a combo of chicken & fish, don't really like it), chicken heart & gizzard, pig stomach and cow stomach, beef tripes, pig intestines, pig blood rice cake... etc. ^ They're not all that unusual in the Chinese culture though, since we eat a lot of internal organs and all.

Chicken hearts rule! Great cooked over a flame.
Frog legs taste like chicken and I'd def eat them again. Alligator is sort of rubbery but again-like chicken sort of.
But then again think about it - they are all basically reptiles - genomics has shown that dinosaurs evolved into birds so everytime you are eating fried chicken it's also a Flintstones bronto burger

Hey, the chinese food just got here! * meow * oh, and speaking of which: I work for an airline ( no, posting is not my occupation ) and used to be involved with the aircargo department. Well everyday we would get these huge shipments of frogs from the Dominican Republic, and by huge I mean the entire cargo hold was full of cases with 20 frogs each. And guess who was there to recieve them everyday? A little army of vans from Chinatown in NYC. Now I'm not saying it was for food - maybe they were popular pets, like pot-bellied pigs. General toad's chicken

And as the most socially unacceptable, i propose the Durian: Hate it or love it I dont know many europeans who like this fruit, but i do.(even though im eurasian),so locals sometime go; "wah can eat durian!not bad sia.." Anyways, people usually says it stinks.. if u get caught with one of those in the singaporean subway,u'll end up with a 500$ find(not quite sure about the exact amount of the find).Taxi drivers dont take u if u carry durians...

I think I had this and after I ate it I said - wow, this really doesn't taste so hot, thinking the smell would somehow hid a sweetness that wasn't there. But it looked cool. Maybe it is an acquired taste like tequila or buttermilk.
