bear meat. i think it tasted amazing. it wasn't really a weird ethnic food so much as it was my redneck uncle killing a bear, but whatever. it was good.
alligator is pretty common around here because we're close enough to louisiana to get it fresh.

Balut seems strange, do you eat like that, not cooked? it's cooked. well i can't comment on the other asian ethnic cultures, but in pretty much every case with vietnamese, i know it's cooked. like i said in my past post, if it's developed to where the bones are hard and it's got feathers, i don't like it. for the most part, i don't like eating raw things(except for maybe sushi or fruits). and since the egg is well-boiled, whatever's in there is pretty much softened so.

Ok, we've all heard the jokes about E. Asians eating dogs and cats, and I can hardly comment since I've eaten snails, bullfrogs, squid, octopus and alligator (and liked them all!). What is the weirdest or most socially unacceptable "ethnic" cuisine you've eaten, and did it taste good? and sorry if this was already a thread Is squid and octopus really that weird? Anyway I've eaten Kangaroo (very rare meat, it was a bit too rare for me), Crocodile (fishy Chicken). I like eating tripe which a lot of Westerners find weird, I think there's an association between eating tripe, liver etc and being poor. I'm most ashamed about eating turtle eggs but I was young and my dad forced me.

^ Does the turtle eggs taste like regular eggs? And, I LOVE tripes I don't care what others say hehe... There's this one dish my friend's dad invented that made me addicted to it. It's a beef tripe cooked with jalapeƱo. So spicy but so good!!!

you guys are making me hungry - I'm in the mood for some octopus now. I am kicking myself for not eating turtle soup the other night at this conji restaurant in NYC. Instead I had Lychee bubble tea and this bland frog conji that tasted like flavorless turkey soup and they used baby frog legs so it had all these bones!

^But.... baby frogs are tadpoles.... I didn't even know tadpoles are edible And I'd never eat a turtle, cuz I like turtles. They're so cute!
