Wendy Marie Mock. (2:57) youtube.com/watch?v=jJ9ewRjXS-EShe doesn't look Eurasian. Her dad doesn't either, but you can see the Asian in him. It's surprising when you see Eurasians who look completely white.

Wow, this is from a long time ago The woman with the curly blond hair? Im guessing her dad is eurasian and mom is caucasian? I think its normal for 1/4 asians 3/4 whites to look completely white. But in fact I can see asian traits in her, like the shape of the eyes.

Fan of Kelly Hu? I'm assuming that this is how you found the clip. Actually, I don't care for any of the contestants in that clip except for her and the first contestant... I dunno. If someone were to tell me that her father was full Austronesian of some sort (e.g., Filipino, Malay, Maori, Polynesian, etc.), I'd probably believe it. Who knows what his actual ethnic background is (the lady mentions "Chinese," but this is technically just a nationality that may not necessarily imply the dominant Han ethnic group/superset)? Elementary school Genetics taught me that both parents would have to carry genes for blond hair and blue eyes (they're recessive traits) in order for these to be expressed in their children. If that "Chinese" guy is, in fact, her biological dad (her surname seems rather ambiguous to me), and she is a natural, blue-eyed blond, then he is carrying those genes along with the mother. Not a big deal if he's EA too. For some reason, this discussion brings to mind an article that I saw a while back: "Blondes 'to die out in 200 years'" (anyone else amused by the fact that this research study was carried out by experts in Germany?). Oh, but there's no question that she inherited her "humor genes" from mom and not dad. To be fair, I'd probably look just as uncomfortable as he did, if I had to listen to all those pageant interviews...

I think that many Filipino Eurasians look like full-Europeans. I came across this photo and article of a blonde Filipino Eurasian: STAR DREAM GIRL: Kelsey Santa Cruz The Philippine STAR 06/12/2005 Yes, Virginia. She is a dead-ringer for Hollywood’s Alicia Silverstone of the famed Clueless and Miss Match. But this teener is definitely one classic beauty who deserves a second look. Meet Kelsey Santa Cruz. Standing 5’5"-tall, Kelsey is a high school student at the North Oldhan in Kentucky. This half-Filipino, half-American stunner is the daughter of Santiago Santa Cruz and the former Donna Holcond. Aside from her studies, Kelsey is also busy with her passion – horse- back riding. She started riding at the age of five. She has also joined local competitions back in her hometown. Kelsey’s love affair with this high-brow sport is no surprise since she is an animal lover. "I love the idea of interacting with and training animals," she says. A self-confessed music lover, Kelsey enjoys listening to indie, reggae, mellow and jazz. In college, Kelsey plans to take up psychology because she wants to study human body language and behavior. Even if she was raised with the Pinoy touch, Kelsey describes herself as very American, spontaneous, independent. She also adds that she tries to be positive in a lot of things. She is very calm and says she can’t afford to be mean. Since it’s summer in the States, Kelsey is here for a vacation to spend time with her Filipino relatives. In fact, part of her itinerary is to attend a family reunion. "Here, everybody knows everybody," says Kelsey. "Filipinos are nice and very close with each other. Everybody is polite." With Kelsey’s striking looks and endearing traits, it will be no wonder if modeling offers rain on her while she’s in town. –Jerry Donato Alot of Filipino who claim to be full filipino are in fact descendents of mix ancestry, hence the the higher possbility of a recessive gene. even today there are alot of full blooded spanish families living in the philippines have absolutely no filipino bloodlines, but call themselves Filipinos. The term filipino was original used to describe a Spanish person born in the Philippines, while the native Filipinos were just simply call natives.

Alot of Filipino who claim to be full filipino are in fact descendents of mix ancestry, hence the the higher possbility of a recessive gene. Yep, met one today. A new girl joined the Filipino folk dance troupe I'm in and claims to be 100% Filipina, but I really thought she was mixed. I'm slightly amused by the fact that many Filipinos are pleased when others think they might be mixed.

I am an extremely white looking EA :-( So its interesting to note my "whiteness" particularly blond/now light brown hair would have to be carried by both parents: would you rather look more "chinesey" like me? your eyes look Asian, don't they? anyways... actually I hate all these comments. be it about myself or about someone else. In my Korean class there were two other half-Koreans. One looks rather Asian ("but" very tall) and the other one has light hair and light eyes, w/ eyes that only look a bit Asian. When our class went to a restaurant to have dinner, someone said "He's also half-Korean, eventhough one wouldn't see it". I dunno why but it made *me* feel bad... Another friend of mine (I still like her ) loves to point out to ppl I hardly know how I look more Asian than she does... Yeeees, we can all see that. Whatever. *group hug* (I stole that one from maow ;D) I think that becomes a part of the politics of being mixed. My cousins sometimes get upset when people compare us because they look more 'typically' Euro (blonde hair and blue eyes; brown hair and green eyes) even though we're all Ojibwe. But then I get flack for looking too Ojibwe and Filipino sometimes as well. It's definitely not easy either way and it sucks to see someone get called down over these sorts of things.
