The thread about anything and everything that is Mixed Filipino/a. All other EA's and non-EA's are very welcome! My only condition for entry is that my thread is not to be spammed by extensive mestizo/a bibliographies. Otherwise, sit back, grab a drink, mix, mingle and enjoy yourself. So what's one of the first things people notice when they step into a house party? The lookers of course! So here are some to start this thread off: Cassie Ventura (Filipina & American Afro-Caribbean) Nicole Scherzinger (Filipina & Russian) Raquel Gibson (Filipina & Italian) Jeri Lee (Filipina & Mexican) Melanie Tillbrook (Filipina & British) Misa Campo (Filipina & Dutch) Myleene Klass (Filipina & British) Vanessa Minnillo (Filipina & Italian) kyu-ree: keep in mind that this board has to be for ages 13+[/size]

And some entertainment to get us moving:
Apl.De.Ap (Filipino and African American) with his Black Eyed Peas hiphop group. Song is called, 'Bebot'
Cassie, 'Me & U'
Cassie, 'Long way 2 go'
Chad Hugo (full Filipino, born in America) with Pharrell Williams make up the hiphop production duo, 'The Neptunes', having won grammy of the year for Best Producer, and he also forms one third of their group, 'NERD'. They are some of the biggest producers in hiphop history, having produced smash hits for pretty much every star in the genre this decade. Here is one of their own songs, 'She wants to move'
Nicole Scherzinger, 'Baby love'
Enrique Iglesias, 'Hero'

^I once was ranted to by a particularly tactless drunk friend that there is a unspoken heirarchy of mixed asians - it went something like this:
1. Half Japanese, Korean 2. Half Chinese 3. Half Cambodian, Laotian, Vietnamese etc. 4. Half Half Thai, Indo, Malay etc. 5. Half Anything Else 6. Half Filo
The same guy also exclaimed (this time high, and upon hearing that I was half filo): "Phillipina! I could trade you in for my play station!"
What do you guys think?! Do Filos really have such a low standing amongst the other asian nations or is this as bulls*** as my friend is?

You know a proven psychological theory on how insecure people try to put down others so they will feel a bit better about themselves. Those people's egos are buried six feet under at the lowest level. Filos are not truly like 'em Asians .

If you're dealing with some ignoramus, then tell him/her that he forgot about the half Laotians and they're #7 which means we're not at the bottom. FIFTH RUNNER UP BABY!!!! The same guy also exclaimed (this time high, and upon hearing that I was half filo): "Phillipina! I could trade you in for my play station!" Seriously. Ppl like this aren't worth your time and if ur a spiteful ass like me you'd rip into them and extract an equal amount of flesh. (Of course when friends start making filipino jokes around me, I offer to sweep their floors and make lumpia) Seriously Seriously. Make one trip to the philippines. Step into almost any home and the ppl's hearts shine. The Filipino is worth dying for. btw - I think this is the first post you've made jak regarding anything filipino. i'm happy

I wouldn't take that wankers' remarks too seriously Jak, a lot of arseholes out there seem to have their own 'hierarchal list'. Anyway so here's my list: 1. Any Eurasian mix. 2. Other non-EA mixes. 3. Full-blooded races.

I have friends (one is South East Asian Chinese and Korean ) who happened to be really jealous when people notice me more like, in a restaurant, the waiter will take my order first; in a theater, the usherette will give my ticket and other stuff first; in the mall or stores like Bed Bath and Beyond; the staff will smile at me and ask if I need help even though sometimes I’m not the one buying. And this happened in the States where all the staff are part time students are either Caucasians, Latinos/Blacks ( I noticed the pure Asians (sans Filo) will study your face first).
I never gave it a thought or analyzed it before because I know it’s only natural, with or without them, people of all races and ages are friendly with me, until I noticed that the two friends, at separate occasions, despised the way they were ignored and I was entertained first. Then I heard one of them lashed out at this lady in a party how “they’re higher coz their countries have higher standard of living”, you should see the lady’s face, how one of her eye brows raised when the friend was saying this. I ignored this kind of stuff coz I know I’m more special than them with the way people interact at me. There’s another instance when this friend lashed her “higher than thou” speech and my blonde and blue eyed boss never talked to her again and ignore any trainee coming from her country. That really pissed them off big time and I have a big grin on my face. Caucasian officemates and boss luv us!
Jak, if your mom is an executive in a big IT corporation and your friend's Asian relative is not. The friend is really jealous of your status.
