Mongolia has had a sharp rise in fertility rates recently, only to drop just as sharply. No one really knows why. And yes Mongolian summers can get quite hot in certain parts, but average temperature is still flat zero. Ne ways, the global population of Mongols is a debatable subject. Officially there are 3 million in Mongolia, 4 million in Tsahar Mongolia (China), 7 million in Hazarajat (Afghanistan), 1.5 million in Iran, 200,000 in Kalmykia (Russian Caucasus), 500,000 in Buryatai (Russia-Siberia), and total of around ~1-2 million living worldwide. Roughly 18-20 million disunited people. The rest have intermixed and disappeared. (Only to come back about 2-3 generations after intermixing and calling themselves Mongols ) Meh, we're too complicated a people nowadays. And that's the trouble with having a civilization that started out, and still is in many ways, nomadic. Not enough central unification to provide for details on such statistics. It's also somewhat problematic to have such distinguishable groups like Khalka and Buryat, among others, within an ethnic group. Not easy when doing census research.

Trouble? What trouble? Heh it's just how we are As for our dispersed/nomadic/mysterious nature... Nomad, rider of the ancient east Nomad, rider that men know the least Nomad, where you come from no one knows Nomad, where you go to no one tells

Heh. I've made this wonderful little discovery in hong kong.. There is this little underground club known mainly to ex-international school hong kongers and the crowd is pretty much always 50% young eurasians. Its madtastic. Lets see there must have been.. at least 30 of us there last night. I clearly remember people drunkenly yelling 'its good to be mixed'. Its starting to become clear to me that mixed people in hong kong really stick together and so we're all connected in some way or another. Makes dating a little hard though . Oh and two of the bartenders are very very goodlooking eurasian girls.. like VERY. I think one of them is a model. So yea, if you're ever in hong kong, find bassment.. although its kind of a crazy place.

IF I do get to HK sometime this year I would like to see what that is all about but I am probably a little too old for that crowd!

^ If you are too old, then I must be really *mature*. Unless someone happen to like EA uncles. But it sounds more like an International school crowd rather than an EA crowd per se -- it just happens that many international schools in HK have a large EA component. I find that EA, as a social group in HK, only persists in the juvenile / young adult stage. After about age 25, they just *disappear* -- either going back to a western country overseas, or melding more into the expat or *local* crowd.

When I went to our local Chinese supermarket, saw two little EA toddlers both with sandy blonde hair, their mother was very blonde. I didn't ask but I assumed the father was Chinese.

i'm waiting for the lift yesterday at my new appartment, and when the lift door opens, this semi-famous EA model/actor comes out the lift. i recognise him, but not too familiar, so i google him and find out his details, he's in his 30's, is eng/chi. He lives on either the 7 or 9/f of my building, his not super good looking or tall, but well cut and i guess passable.
i feel some stalker action on my part, or i'll ask the nosy security guard for details! haha

Hey, do any of you ever wonder what's going on through the mind of the other EA stranger when you guys see each other? lol
Sometimes I see white + Asian couples pushing their EA child in the stroller, and they kind of stare at me for a couple seconds. I wonder if they're thinking, "So is that what my kid's going to look like when she grows up?" to themselves.
Or maybe they just think it's another stranger and continue on with their day.
Anyway, there's actually a handful of Eurasian children at the day care center I work at, and one little EA girl's father actually isn't that ugly. But the rest of them do indeed have the fugly old white daddies, except two of them who have white moms.

Saw an EA gal on the subway today, after a couple of embarrassed stares, we talked a bit about how a rare sighting it is to see others like us. She ended up giving me her Facebook account name ?! I just hope my girlfriend has never heard of the board...
From experience, I think most EAs get curious when they see one and want to interact, even if he's a complete stranger though there is a minority that doesn't give a damn about EAness.
After that I think there are two types:
- the desperately in need of EA love ones, very pressing in their approach
- EA socially-integrated ones, much more casual
She seemed to be the former ;D
