^ Do you guys immediately recognize someone who is EA? Like do you guys have a subconscience or an "extra sense" that tells you.."yup that person is definitely EA" and the other person is probably thinking the same thing? Lol.

It kinda just depends on how Asian they look and what location I'm in. I go based off the demographics of the area, so if I'm in a heavily populated Hispanic or Amerindian place and an EA just so happens to walk by I'd probably think they're just another Hispanic or Amerindian. But if I saw that same person a military base or an area with more Asians, I'd probably know they're EA. But many EAs look more Asian (from a western perspective, that is), so I usually know.

^Finding EA guys only requires a few tweaks to your internal gaydar. EA girls are more easily identified by their possessions (like a camera) or distance from certain cultural centers--because women don't like to stray too far from family.

I know what tweak means, I just didn't know how/why you were using it. What do gays and EA men have in common and cameras and EA girls? Sorry if I ruined you joke.

^What do gays and EA men have in common? Better looking and larger than average penis sizes? Overly fashion-conscious and man-scaped? A desire to have sex with as many men as possible? Yes Palaver, do tell I think the camera-EA woman thing is a reference to the number of women on this site who are into photography.

^ Hey now, I said "tweaked gaydar" not doppler gaydar. What do gays and EA men have in common and cameras and EA girls? Sorry if I ruined you joke. I wouldn't say ruined. More like... you showed up at a place where the joke has friends, reputation--and tried to hand it a bag lunch.

My strangest encounter was actually a piano student of mine. I'd been teaching her for ages and never really noticed her ea look - I'd only ever met her mum who actually looked Philipino to me, so I assumed she was the same, until one day her mum took a phone call during a lesson and I thought, hang on, I know that language! So I asked my student if she was Thai and she said, yes, mum is but dad is Italian....I said, same as me! haha! It was funny that not only did I not notice she was ea, but she was the exact same mix as me! She actually then said, 'I thought so!' - so a 9 year old was more observant than i was.
i don't really notice many ea's around to be honest. I think I'm just ignorant and am so used to being the only ea in my area (i can't recall a single other ea at primary or high school...) that I've got a complex similar to Daffyd - the only gay in the village! hahahahaha!

Now reading some of your posts, I want some ea's to come up to me and chat. I'd love that! There's something about meeting other ea's. I'm so white washed that I don't think people notice...they just look at me funny as if they're trying to figure out what I am. I'm presenting the challenge to all you melbourne ea's out there now! If you ever bump into me, come up for a chat! (good luck - I'm a stay at home mum at the moment so chances of bumping into me are slim if that) Though I think I've met the majority of melbourne based EANers

Remember a tight costume saying "my spider sense is tingling"? Same thing applied to EAs. @ Alisa: Solitary EAs apparently have a very different and undesirable experience compared to Eurasians with large EA social circles. I see more and more of us around, could by any chance Paris be a cosmopolite city ?! ROFL. Once again it was a girl in her late teens, she seemed to be trying to avoid eye contact with people so I didn't look at her for more than a couple of seconds. Funny how EAs I see seem to be quite pretentious or at least super annoyed, must be the area.

Kids are amazing like that. They can totally not observe things too like moving vehicles. When I went to families town in Germany last year I was surprised to meet a German/Viet EA guy there who was my age. He'd grown up there was friends with my best friend from the town and lived only a few hundred meters from my grandmas place where we always stayed. Guess I was just as oblivious.

^ This is part 2. I have a feeling we're gonna turn this into a trilogy thread
Went walking around brooklyn with my friend who lives here now and he bumped into his friend. She turned out to be EA Japanese/Norwegian/Swede/Italian. We all went to a german kinda bar and I don't know how I mentioned EAN but she was instantly interested and wanted to joined.
