^ I can usually tell the difference too between black Africans and black people whose family has been living outside of Africa for generations. The difference probably comes from admixtures (which I believe you said) within the black person from America or caribbean etc.

There are still physical differences between African natives within the continent itself. Same with all continents from Europe to Asia to native America.
Therefore I don't believe in all these "admixture makes diversity" stuff either. If the world was all 3 races then there should only be globally 3 types of mixed people, which is a rather weird idea. The world is very diverse.

The world is very diverse. True, but most African-Americans are believed to have descended from West Africa. Even then, I can still see a physical difference between the two. And then East Africans (Somalian, Ethiopian, etc) are extremely different in looks, and you can tell the difference right off the bat.

I think there was an estimate that approximately 30% of blacks today have white ancestry It is WAY more than this -- At least 90% of African-Americans have *some* European ancestry. Maybe 30% have as much or more white ancestry than African (eg, Obama or Beyonce). At the end of the Civil War there were still many slaves fully of African descent, but the European ancestry in the slaves and freed persons of "mixed" descent has largely been mixed into the African-American population and spread to the vast majority -- definitely over 90%. The vast majority of African-Americans also have a smattering of Native American ancestry, though typically it is quite small (eg, 1/64 to 3/32) except for the "tri-racials" found mostly in the mid-Atlantic and SE coast. The typical African-American is about 80% African, 18% European, and this varies from location to location. African-Americans in Seattle and Boston tend to have less African ancestry, closer to 70%. Blacks in the South and Southeast who have remained in their segregated rural ghettos since the Civil War may have more -- closer to 90%. So Obama's kids probably have about 65-68% sub-Saharan ancestry and 30-35% European, or about 2/3 - 1/3 mix. At least 10% of whites in the USA have some sub-Saharan African ancestry, and large parts of the population from Mexico and Venezuela also have some African mixed into them, esp. the areas that border on the Caribbean. European and African ancestry is mixed throughout a very large percentage of the population in the USA.

And what difference does it make in real life - none
Even if all of that are accepted facts, there's still no end to black and white tolerance. the problem of racialism is not genetic, it is cultural, and it needs a revolution.

My cousin had a baby a few months ago. My cousin is quarter Chinese, three quarters Irish, thus making little Abigail one eight Chinese. You can't really see it, but her eyes are a teensy bit slanted and her hair is jet black. :]

It is good to know what/who you are, but then again most people just like to be different.

I don't know... One of my friends is 1/8 Chinese and you can really see it. It depends on the both the parents genes, not only the asian one! Europeans can also have slented eyes. Ive seen many europeans with more slented eyes than a 50-50% eurasian. Ive read that Africans are the most diverse people genetically (because we have been here for a longer period of time) and then come Asians and Europeans that are the least diverse.

There are a lot of white people with "Asian-looking" eyes or facial features and people always wanna try and speculate, but sometimes it's just a white person who has those features. White people are probably the most variable and drastically different in features.
