You had to hunt or buy it then slaughter it? I was watching a documentary called Guerilla Girl that was about a girl who joined a guerilla army in Columbia and they made her slit the throat of a cow that was tied to a tree. The cow was in agony bleeding to death and when they cut it up there was a dead calf inside. All this kinda bothered me alittle because thats basically what happens at slaughter-houses eh..So would you?

Been there, done that.
I spared a though for my kill for a moment, but still very much enjoyed my dinner.
In my opinion, to answer 'no' for cruelty reasons then still persist in eating meat killed by others, ignorant of the method which they used, would be simply hypocritical.

I'd do it. but i'd eat a lot less meat. That's a whole lot of trouble. I get tired of just washing vegetables.

I would only eat the ugly animals. For instance: I would never eat a sea lion , no matter how much its juicy steak of a belly would taste like

I find it way to stressful to avoid meat more often in this society... Me, too! I tried going vegetarian on my trip in Singapore... omg, why did I do it in Singapore? -_- I was in the food court with dead ducks hanging from hooks and baby pigs that looked as though they'd been burnt alive. I had to go to the bathroom and chill out for a while. @_@

It's nice to live in a time and place when you have a choice.
I can't speak for others, but if it's me, and I'm hungry/starving.......ANY animal better hope it is pretty fast.

its a fair question.
my family has a farm in the philippines and i've done my share of slaughtering or playing witness..... i LOVE the taste of meat, but have gradually eliminated it from my diet. first to go was pork (rationale: best friend was a pig + charlottes web).. then all red meat after the farm experience (cow slaughter is not fun).... so eliminating red meat was easy. i was a chicken/fish eater for the longest time but that has recently changed, catalyzed by pet shrimp, documentaries on lobster migrations and an afternoon on the farm (a different one) with a hen, her chick and a vigilant rooster. sh*t, i can't even crush cockroaches anymore.... (i now escort them out of the house like royalty). In fact, I've gone completely weaksauce for such stupid and laughable reasons. Something is wrong.

^Oh, I didn't realize it was more or less difficult in different countries. Hmmm...that's crazy about the prices. Yeah, vegans RULE!!!!!!! Though honestly, I loved talking about being vegan when I was a kid...but I'm spent of it. It's just a part of me now...I don't think I'd have anything to say if such a thread was started...

Yes, we are swimming against stream. Like some fish who swim against stream. Salmon, I think? We are like salmon.

I don't particularly like meat, and I don't particularly dislike it.
With that said, if I have to slaughter and process my own meat, I think I'd do it. I'm not about to give up eating meat any time soon because I believe humans are carnivores. And the last time I checked, no one was giving s*** to lions killing and eating zebras or whatever the animals they eat.
Yes, I'll go to hell, but so will the lions.

^The difference between humans and lions being that we don't need meat to live healthy lives...I don't think there's concrete evidence whether humans are herbivores or carnivores or omnivores. www.emagazine.com/view/?143I guess you just have to believe what fits your own morals, since there's no concrete evidence.
