^What's the Puto Seko - looks interesting ? Does anyone like Kuih (Malay desserts; sweet pastries and jellies) ? I'm partial to the tapioca and the Kuih Lapis. However, most of these are SO sweet because coconut, condensed milk and lots of brown sugar is used which makes everything a bit too rich and sickening.

Suman ... so thats what its called My dad used to dumb down the names of filipino foods for us... We called bagoong "smelly stuff" for a really long time. Still do. I love mochi. My uncle always buys a package from the Japanese airport when his flight stopped over there. (crazy airport prices tho )

filipinos likes to feed anybody even people they dont know. have you heard of fiesta when they celebrate their patron saint in the PI? chunkmuffin will know this...people you don't know will usually invite you to eat in their house. anyways, my favorites are leche plan and halo halo. wow, is it me or is there a sudden explossion of half-filo lately.. ;D yay fiesta ;D.. its really fun, you go house to house and eat and eat and eat ;D we also used to make food at home during fiesta but wouldn't invite any strangers though... just friends and party all day and night and in between go to neighbors (which are also friends of ours) and continue to eat and eat..hahaha!! It was fun.. kinda' miss it. Haven't been in a fiesta for 3 1/2 years now anyway to get back to the topic, here are my fave asian (pinoy!) desserts: putoseko buko salad suman (I only like cassava though) leche flan bibingka yema balls gee.. I could go on and on.. are yema balls yolk? my favourite asian desert is i duno. I get fruit for 'desert' at home

In Holland Village (Singapore), there's this store that sells cocunut (orange colour) wrapped in pancake and it's so delicious . Other places in Singapore sell them as well with different varieties I don't know the real name of it I remember eating a fish shaped Asian dessert which was made the same way as waffles which includes kaya, chocolate etc which was extremely nice

I thought I liked mochi, but have since changed my mind. I picked up some of these at the Japanese food market nearby my apartment: My HS Japanese teacher had tried to teach us the 'Dango song' to instill new vocabulary in us. Japanese people try to make even weird skewered food cutesy (although I admit the song *is* catchy): Dango! Mochi on a stick! I thought it'd be good. But after about one third of one skewer, I had had enough. The chewy factor is a bit too much for me. I'll be sticking to dorayaki.

Melon Cream Soda Yukimidaifuku Since I couldn`t get a closeup pic of a Yukimidaifuku, I`ll just post a pic of a hamstar that looks very much like one.
