ChevymanSS, that's some nice groove. Here's some stuff I recorded at home over three years ago for posterity with some former band-mates (one of whom, our vocalist/rhythm guitarist would kill me if he knew I posted this stuff, but since they're all my songs I think I have ASCAP rights). It's a little rough, but with one mic, keyboard drums and little patience for multiple takes I suppose it could have been worse. The first song has my weak-ass vocals, which are the reason I didn't sing with my band and these day restrict myself to instrumental jams on guitar and viola. www.sendspace.com/file/tfge63This one also has my laughable attempt at a keyboard solo www.sendspace.com/file/omj3xoRock instrumental www.sendspace.com/file/r2bdkr

^will check that out when I get a land connection
------------------------
Recorded 4 songs yesterday for upload that I was going to post here. I set the camera too close so they were all way too loud. Planned to re-record today, but o/night, electrical outlets in my house went dead and I've lost internet. F*ck.

NICE. Sounds like the vibe of an r&b track where the artist is in a relaxed frame of mind, reminiscing about the past or telling a story about a past occurrence (eg an ex, life growing up etc). It seems to have a slight sexual undertone to the melody as well. The first R&B artist I thought of whose style would match the track was Aaliyah. Others I can imagine vocalising over it include TLC, Janet Jackson, Brandy, and even Nas as a rapper could do a guest appearance on such an r&b track. I like how you included a type of breakdown of the beat about 3/4 or 2/3 of the way through, allowing for the listener to focus on the vocals (such as a falsetto), or even to think about the last lyric the artist just sung. This occurs in many tracks nowadays, and is a good technique for achieving such a task. Overall, good job, I enjoyed listening. Just needs the right singer with the right lyrics and mood to do the beat justice. ^Hey Chevy, did you ever get someone to lay some vocals down on this instrumental? I'd love to hear it. The arrangement really does scream classic Aaliyah, Janet or TLC.

Uh, just messing around here. I've been playing gits for about 17 years, but only in the past year or so have I been trying to learn to slide. Not very good yet! Kinda surprised at the production value I can get out of Garage Band though. I just recorded off my webcam mic, and ran some sh*tty effects through it. Too much coffeeOh, and I'm not some crazed out hick like the song would suggest. I just am for now.

Heh thanks. I'm really not a hick believe me. I think I was originally attempting to do some Jimmy Page acoustic thing (cuz that's how I roll), and then it mutated into that.

I decided against posting in this past, since I'm not completely happy with the performance here, but it was a fun show, so what the heck:
