Do you make music? do you make remixes? do you play an instrument? do you music woteva?
Who cares... unless you come out of the closet, and share your musical talents with the EAN community, TODAY.

i like the trombone ! and the cello too! there s something very "human" about these particular instruments i think.....they sound or look like human stereotypes to me....may be my "fantasia" influence kicking in i don t make music... i sometimes, on very rare occasions ;D sing for a friend who makes his own music... i liked how he played "fly me to the moon" in a very mambo/jazzy way and how i had to sing to it ... otherwise that s pretty much it....i don t do music, but i sure appreciate it !

From Sinatra: ""The thing that influenced me most was the way Tommy played his trombone. He would take a musical phrase and play it all the way through seemingly without breathing for 8, 10, maybe 16 bars," Sinatra wrote in a 1965 Life magazine article. "It was my idea to make my voice work in the same way as a trombone or violin.""

In all seriousness I like the Trombone. In fact, one of my biggest musical influences was a teacher I had in college. Among other things he taught me composition and orchestration. He was a trombonist in Stan Kenton's band during the 1950's, Bill Russo.

^interesting ! that would explain why i like both so much ... i m not sure he pulled off the violin bit but he sure did for the trombone .... i d say the trombone and cello are good at translating "moods" and the violin and piano are better at translating "feelings/emotions" ... i may be wrong though but that s how i see it .... there are so many things one can do with instruments !

^Definitely agree that the cello is awesome at translating moods, such an amazing, earthy, deep sound. Really like Yo Yo Ma's solo cello suites, which brings out its best qualities. Not sure I feel the same about the trombone, but hey, don't knock it till you try it. Maybe Yo Yo Ma will come out with an equally amazing bach-inspired solo trombone composition as well? I play guitar regularly, but am a little bit off "guitar elitist" status, say ohhh umm...........another 50yrs.

^ Yoyo Ma's cello is poignantly exquisite. The pieces he did for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Memoirs of a Geisha are brilliant!!

ok, all this talk is great. now where's the friggin music?
kudos to the following who have already posted their music elsewhere on EAN: (i'd dig up links but 2 lazy at mom)
- phrosting for his brow-beating (??) - hapalicious for her cat-song - yongfook for his classical/techno remixes - Tyson for his green tea whateveritwas - DDL for her audition recordings - (apologies to anyone else i've missed)
this thread needs more of that sh*t. it does not need a youtube recording of a song you like. so sing, strum, mix, dance, clap, rap, bust a move, do that funky music and post it here.
PS - if no one posts soon, I'll be forced to inundate you all with grade 2 songs for the recorder.
