i don't come across the 'all ea's r beautiful' stereotype. maybe its my environment. I get 'well, its working for you' type comments after the whole 'what r u' thing is explained. and the latino thing all the time, but its 1/2 true. lol
& nah, it doesn't annoy me, ppl r just trying to compliment u. if its a girl saying it prob means she likes u

The whole latino thing is weird when you are living in Australia, because there's hardly any latinos here.

I don't think the Latino thing is resticted to Americas.
I have even experienced it in HK. -- Some thought I was Mexican in HK -- I even had a Venezuelan come up and speak to me in Spanish in HK. It is possible that the Latino thing could hit you in Australia despite the low numbers there.

I have had a Spanish/latino man come up to me in my local area asking in Spanish whether or not I was Spanish. Obviously all I could understand was "espanole". When I said I could not speak Spanish, he continued speaking Spanish to me again and again! It was weird.
Point is, I have come across latino/spanish people in Australia and they think I am one of them.
Oh, and one time I was working with a bunch of Brazilians (they were in Australia on a working visa) at this catering company, and one or two kept speaking Portugese to me.
