quite an interesting thread and just spent the last half an hour absorbing it all. since iam asian male living in australia i can provide another viewpoint on the matter. I believe the pressure to conform to the 'norm' plays a major factor in regards to preferances. i presume most EA here live in western countries whereby they are usually surrounded and influence by all things 'white' and as such you grow up 'programmed' to prefering white partners. You watch TV shows with white characters and some token black, you watch hollywood movies with majority white ppl, you read newspapers/magazines with white ppl. I mean how can u not be influenced by this? How can you not prefer whites when u never see an asian person on TV? I remember reading a quote by a Soviet Communist president stating that western media and hollywood was the greatest propaganda tool ever created, and made their own state run television seem primitive.
something else i would like to say, having thought about racism and discrimination issues for a while i was thinking maybe its human nature to group people/things and generalise. maybe its a way our brains allows to comprehend the complex world we live in. we do this in all manners of science in which we try to find a general pattern and apply a universal rule to describe. I believe this applies to human behaviour, look at some ppl here had bad experiences with asians and as such disassociate themselves from ALL asians. Similarly, some had bad experiences with whites and as such prefer asians. Interesting.

What if a Eurasian looks Asian, you did not suspect they were mixed, unitl they tell you. Do you just brush them off, they are about as Asian as you are. I dont brush off anybody. In fact I belive now I am more guilty of seeing someone and thinking they are Eurasain before thinking they are full blooded because it has played such a factor in my life. Weather you are eurasian asian, or white who cares though

Im always kind of shocked that people have such strong racial preferences. I think everyone builds bias in to the head by repeating it to themselfs over and over again. I used to not like spanish women [It was odd cause I like everyone else and I mean everyone] but then one day I started trying to look for spanish girls that were hot and I eventually learned to like them more. I still have a preference but Im not biased twords spanish women. I wont rule them out anymore. People from every race are attractive.
Asian guys get a bad rap it seems and I cant stand it cause it rediculous and very obviously built by stero types. But I think times are changing.

Definately not racist. I've done both caucs and asians. No preference either way. Its the PERSON that counts, not their race.

thats not very nice, being half-racist towards yourself. though i cant really say because i cheated because im only half eurasian (the european half) and ridiculously nationalistic sometimes at that too.
though i am more attracted to european guys, i find that asian guys always have the nicest hands.
i have a hand fetish, leave me alone.

Polish food is good. I like those little soft turnover things that can have meat in them, or mushrooms. They're more like crepes I guess. I wish I knew the name.

No, no flaming going on here. I might have said something stupid, but my heart was in the right place and I didn't need to get slapped...

This is an interesting thread that I always see and somehow never get around to posting on. I can see that its just about to get exciting....
Anyways I'll say something on this. I love asian girls, and (purely for my current situation) white girls just annoy me. So no, I'm not racist towards my Asian side, I am racist towards my Euro side, well in this context anyway.
I think its a bit of the fact that many men are attracted to women that remind them of their mother (dont cringe, its true). This is also true of one of my EA friends, his mum is caucasian and he's got a thing for white girls. Total oppoiste of me and I have an Asian mum.

Don't get offended on someone else's behalf. I was just trying to be friendly. Who said I was directing it at you. I know you meant nothing by it. Since your not a girl you probably don't hear the cook me food line very often.

I just assumed you were directing it at me because you were quoting me. That's usually how it's done. I don't hear the "cook me food" line very often...nor do I utter it (well, except in a restaurant, and most of the cooks are men where I eat). Are you saying that I implied that she should cook me some Polish food because she is a woman? I think you might be slapping me for no good reason. Well, for fun maybe ;D
